A Sad Song.

I've been a moonshiner,
For seventeen long years,
I've spent all my money,
On whiskey and beer,
I go to some hollow,
And sit at my still
And if whiskey dont kill me,
Then I dont know what will,

I go to some bar room,
And drink with my friends,
Where the women cant follow,
And see what I spend,
God bless them pretty women,
I wish they was mine,
Their breath is as sweet as,
The dew on the vine,

Let me eat when I am hungry,
Let me drink when I am dry,
A dollar when I am hard up,
Religion when I die,
The whole world's a bottle,
And life's but a dram,
When the bottle gets empty,
It sure aint worth a damn.

Bed is for sleeping
Love is for making
You know love I am yours for the taking

My eyes are for seeing
The wind is for blowing
And you see love I am yours for the knowing

And night is for dreaming
Sleep is for bedding
I will dream with you the night on our wedding
You have a splinter, and I have a thimble
I will pull it in with movements so nimble

And tears are for falling
Smiles are for breaking
Houses for burning
And kisses for faking

And where are you going?
And why are you leaving?
Left on the walkway
To swallow my grieving

France Gall

Can I just say that i love the music of miss France Gall? I do. I especially love this song... Avant La Bagarre. I was surprised to find a video of her performing it on a french television show in 1968. I don't know if the whole world danced like this in 1968, or if it was mainly in france, but i love it.
